Classic wolf breed. Black Wolves

Often used to play the big bad wolf or the classic horror film beast, our black wolves have been featured in many productions around the world. As a black wolf gets older, its fur colour changes to have a more silver look.
Fun fact: About 30% of wolves in Alaska are black.

The postcard grey wolf, or the wolf most people first think of when writing a wolf into their script. Their striking coloration makes them stand out in any surroundings be it forest or snowy plains. These amazing animals have appeared in such projects as Once Upon A Time and the latest telling of the Red Riding Hood tale.

Snarl & Attack

A SNARLING BLACK WOLF OR WHITE WOLF?

Very seldom do we get a call for wolves either for print or film, which doesn’t require a hair-raising, teeth-baring, ‘snarling’ shot. Because this is requested so often, we’ve perfected the art of safely delivering the famous snarling-wolf-shot, whether it’s outside in the snow or inside a green screen studio.

Wolves On Set

LOTS OF PEOPLE, STRANGE EQUIPMENT AND NOISE AREN’T THINGS NORMALLY ASSOCIATED WITH WOLVES, BUT THAT IS THE NATURE OF THE BUSINESS WE WORK IN.

Two of the first questions our clients ask are “How close can we get with the camera?” and “Are wolves safe to work with?” In answer, have a look for yourself. Sometimes, it’s better to let the pictures speak for themselves.

Wolf Groups

If your production requires not just a lone-wolf but rather the full pack.

A lot of productions are happy with only one or two wolves, but sometimes we get asked to provide a larger pack for specific scenes. At Instinct, we keep all our wolves in larger groups so it’s much easier for us to meet your pack requests.

Wolf Pups

Baby animals always deliver a special, irresistible appeal.

A bunch of little wolf pups running around is as cute as it gets. Depending on the time of year, the schedule of your project, and Mother Nature, we can often provide pups to enhance your film. All our pups are hand raised and never taken from the wild. They are raised to interact with both human actors and other adult wolves.

Wolf Puppets

NEED A REAL LOOKING WOLF FOR THOSE IMPOSSIBLE SHOTS?

We have various colors available: Black, White, Grey and Brown. All are light enough for an actor to carry if needed, some lay flat on their side (dead wolf) and some can be positioned to stand upright (on all 4 paws) to face the camera.
